Zapopan, Jalisco, March 2, 2026.— The Guadalajara campus of the Universidad Panamericana , welcomed Amaury Vergara, CEO of Grupo OMNILIFE-CHIVAS, who met with students and later gave a lecture to the university community at the Poliforum Panamericano.
During his visit to the campus, the businessman took part in an informal discussion with 13 outstanding students from the university, moderated by Dr. Francisco López Torres, dean of the School of Business. During the discussion, he shared his thoughts on leadership, personal development, art, and sports, as well as the lessons that have shaped his professional career.
The event was attended by the dean of the Guadalajara campus, Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade, who welcomed the guest and highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for dialogue between the academic community and the business sector.
People-Centered Leadership
During the conversation, Amaury Vergara shared his experience taking on the presidency of Grupo OMNILIFE-CHIVAS, a process that, as he explained, presented significant personal and professional challenges.
The businessman noted that his leadership vision is based on the conviction that organizations are built primarily on human talent.
“I believe that a company is a group of people,”Vergara said, noting that a significant part of his work as CEO focuses on team development and talent management.
In this regard, he emphasized the importance of fostering work environments that allow each person to develop their full potential and strengthen collaboration within organizations.
Art and Culture as a Source of Inspiration
Another central theme of the discussion was the role of art and culture in personal development. Vergara shared with the students his interest in disciplines such as film, music, and the visual arts—forms of expression that, he noted, have been a constant in his life and a source of personal balance.
He recalled that from childhood onward, he had been exposed to the world of art through visits to museums and experiences related to film, including his involvement in the filming of the movie *Y tu mamá también*, produced by Jorge Vergara and directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
He also spoke about the Museo Jovem, a project launched at the Chivas stadium that aims to bring contemporary art and technology to new audiences.
Sports as a School for Values
During the meeting, the businessman also reflected on the role of sports in fostering values such as discipline, resilience, and teamwork.
From his perspective, sports such as soccer and track and field, beyond mere competition, represent spaces that inspire people and strengthen a sense of community.
Lecture to the university community
Following his discussion with students, Amaury Vergara gave a lecture at the Poliforum Panamericano to an audience of more than 400 people, during which he addressed various aspects of business leadership and organizational management.
At the end of the event, some attendees received official team T-shirts and pairs of tickets to attend a Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara game at Akron Stadium.
Through events like this, the School of Business and Management ( Universidad Panamericana ) promotes dialogue between the university community and leaders from various sectors, strengthening the well-rounded education of its students and encouraging reflection on the challenges of leadership in the business and social spheres.
