The challenge consisted of analyzing a situation based on real dilemmas in the professional practice of accounting, and making decisions based on the code of ethics of the public accountant.

"The case study consisted of a real situation that an accountant might face, and we had to respond based on the professional code of ethics of the Association of Accountants".explained Daniela Ivonne Guzmán González.
He also added: "The main challenge was the limited time to analyze and decide what would be the right action. We had to rely on our knowledge and, as a team, we shared our ideas to build an ethical and informed solution, which we finally presented to the jury.which was the one we finally presented to the jury"..
Experience that prepares for the future
With two participations in this type of activities, the accounting students of our house of studies have acquired experience that prepares them for their graduation from the university and thus demonstrate the Panamerican seal that characterizes Universidad Panamericana. and thus demonstrate the Panamerican seal that characterizes the Universidad Panamericana.
"Within the case study you realize certain situations that an accountant may face on a daily basis, and also this part of how an accountant should behave in these situations and try to make the best decision for the benefit of the public interest. Much of this goes hand in hand with what we learn every day at Universidad Panamericana."said Jorge Roberto Castellanos Vera.
In this sense, Marina Velázquez, considered that the experience in these marathons provides them with tools for their professional life:"The difference between the ethics marathon and the social security marathon, which we went to in April, is that I think this competition was a little bit more serious, you could feel much more professionalism in the atmosphere, both from the teams and the organizers."

"There was a lot of emphasis on ethics in the accounting profession, and I think they did a very good job and I really liked that it felt very real-life with the case study,"Marina adds.
UP: ethical seal and academic excellence
For the students, these experiences represent a unique opportunity to apply institutional values and apply Panamericana's institutional values values of Panamericana: excellence, responsibility and service..
"Ethics, for an accountant, are all the guidelines or professional character that he or she should have in his professional lifedistinguishing right from wrong and the correct judgment that he should have in different situations that may arise", commented Brian Yair Fragoso.

With two podiums so far this year, the team is already preparing for its next competition, with the clear goal of reaching first place.
