ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; June 1, 2022.- Vita Lancaster-Jones Solís is an Alumni of Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara from the Innovation and Design Engineering program (2012-2017). For the past four years she has been working as a mechanical engineer in the Research and Development department for a world leading company in hearing aids for the deaf, called GN, in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Its function is to work in the process of idea generation, conceptualization, prototyping. All kinds of activities that have to be done to bring a product up to the production stage.

When Vita joined UP, she wasn't very clear about what she wanted to work on. She knew she liked product development. However, as she studied, she realized that product development spanned all industries, and so it opened up the whole picture of what she wanted to do and where she wanted to do it.

Once she graduated, the UP helped her to trace that path of how to get, with the bases she learned, to be able to develop products that really contribute to the quality of life of people, which in her case was the medical industry.

"One of the industries that most caught my attention was the medical industry, precisely because I knew I was helping people have a better quality of life."

Finally, one piece of advice he gave to the Innovation and Design Engineering students was that "everyone should be the most curious version of themselves, that they should question everything they are taught because in the end what they will be taught is a guide that everyone decides whether to follow to the letter or whether to turn it around and do the complete opposite".
