Biography Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade

Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Panamericana, Campus Guadalajara. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing at The Pennsylvania State University in 2004 and 2007, respectively. Founded in 1908, this Department was home to the world's first industrial engineering program and has built a long-standing reputation for excellence and innovation in research, education and extension.

During his doctoral studies, he was awarded the Ridg-U-Rak scholarship by the Material Handling Education Foundation for his outstanding academic performance.

In 2014, Dr. Mendoza completed the INNOVAD program, Innovation for Senior Management, and in 2021, the program for Senior Management, AD-Regional, both at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas (IPADE). In addition, he has studies in Leadership Development, Authentic Leader Development, at Harvard Business School.

Since 2000, he has worked at Universidad Panamericana, holding various management positions. At the Guadalajara Campus, he was director of the Industrial Engineering program from 2008 to 2011, and Dean of the School of Engineering from 2011 to 2015. At the corporate level, he was Vice Rector General of Research from 2015 to 2024. Currently, he is a member of the Rector's Council of Universidad Panamericana and Ipade.

Biography Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade

Dr. Mendoza has experience as an operations consultant in the industry. He is a Founding Member of the Mexican Association of Logistics and Supply Chain, A.C., since 2012.

But, above all, Dr. Mendoza has never left his two great passions, teaching and research. He is a full professor D, the highest level within the Professor Category Model of our institution, and is also a member of the National System of Researchers, level 1, by the National Council of Humanities, Science and Technology (CONAHCYT).

In his research career, he has numerous prestigious publications indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases . His contributions can be found in the following scientific journals: European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Business and Systems Research, and the International Journal of Industrial Engineering. His research interests include supply chain logistics, operations management, transportation, facility design and material handling.

He is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences. In addition, he has been a visiting researcher at prestigious institutions such as the Department of Information, Risk & Operations Management of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University.

In 2015, he was recognized as the most outstanding professional of the year by the Institute of Industrial Engineers of Mexico. In 2016, he received the "Manuel López Cotilla" award from Jaltec for his outstanding career in education and linkage between business, university and government. In 2017, he was recognized as a Graduate of the Last Decade(GOLD Award) by the Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Society of The Pennsylvania State University.

He has been married to his wife Marisol for 22 years and is the father of six children: Abraham, Santiago, Josemaría, Emilio, Ana Paula and Mateo. Dr. Mendoza is the first Alumni of Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara campus, to assume the position of Rector.
